Get To Know Us Here At American Vacuum Company

American Vacuum Company was founded in the early 1900s by Ralph H. Person, who purchased the vacuum cleaning division of American Radiator Company. Hence the brand name: Arco.

Our humble beginning began in the basement of a building located in downtown Chicago. In the years that followed through the great depression and two world wars, American Vacuum Company expanded its operation and built a manufacturing facility in Skokie, IL.

As the family business grew with the addition of Ralph M. Person, American Vacuum continued to expand even further. We went from a national supplier to a global provider of industrial vacuum cleaning equipment.

Today, we are a proud fourth generation family-run business providing some of the industry's biggest and most complex vacuum systems. We always have and always will operate with tradition and excellence in building quality equipment. Our "hands-on" customer service approach is the key to our success.

With Over 100 Years
