Silica & Concrete Dust Vacuum System

The practice of using compressed air or a broom is no longer considered an acceptable method of housekeeping. OSHA now recommends the use of HEPA Filtered vacuums for general housekeeping purposes. American Vacuum has been selling HEPA filtered silica and concrete dust vacuum systems since the 1950s and has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in this field. From small portable vacuums to large central vacuum systems, we can equip almost all of our vacuums with HEPA filtration. From foundries to stone cutting, silica and concrete dust vacuum systems are now the recommended method for keeping facilities in compliance.

The U.S. Department of labor has been highlighting the hazards of respirable crystalline silica since the 1930s. Over the years rules and monitoring practices have been put in place to limit exposure to crystalline silica dust. In more recent years OSHA has stated that the rules in place are out of date and do not go far enough to address the hazards caused by crystalline silica dust. A final draft of the new rules was approved in 2013 and is enforceable as of June 2018. These new rules set a very strict standard for airborne silica dust and workplace exposure.
